I love Vampire Diaries Nina Dobrev’s hair. I love the length, the color and how her look can drastically change from Elena to Katherine all with the magic of some hair tools! What a thrill it was to go behind the scenes to watch Daniel transform Nina’s hair for both characters, Elena and Katherine! Btw, If you love vampires, this would be a great Halloween costume idea!

This post was originally written by me for Remington. I loved it so much that I had to share with you for a Vampire Halloween Costume Idea! I think transforming your look to either Katherine or Elena from Vampire Diaries would be a simple Vampire Halloween Costume to put together.

Katherine Vampire Diaries Costume Idea

Find a black dress, a little fake blood dripping from your mouth, a masquerade mask and don’t forget Katherine’s dark blue and silver necklace that protected her from the sun. I found so many options on Etsy.

Elena Vampire Diaries Costume Idea

For a simpler, more natural look go for Elena. A tank top, jeans and a vervain locket would be perfect. Here is the video where she receives the locket from Stephan. You can find Elena’s vervain locket on Etsy as well.

Behind the scenes: the man who created Elena and Katherine’s Hair

First off, if you are dying to get Nina Dobrev’s hair then, let’s mention Daniel . He is not only MEGA talented & inspiring, he is also tremendously gracious and kind.

Daniel was beyond the perfect hostess on my visit to the set. Every step of the way, Daniel made my Mom (aka camera woman) & I feel like WE were the stars that day. Seriously, the most friendly set ever.

Sooo…Just how does Daniel do it?

How to get Vampire Diaries Nina Dobrev’s hair when she plays Katherine Pierce:

Vampire Diaries Nina Dobrev's hair for Elena

*Take sections of your hair & curl with different sized barrels

*Twist your hair in sections and twirl up & pin while putting on your make-up. When ready, take down the curls and run your fingers through the curl.

*Separate the curls & finish with a light spray to last

How to get Vampire Diaries Nina Dobrev’s hair when she plays Elena Gilbert:

*Brush hair and separate into sections

*Use a straightening iron and style towards the back more to get away from the frame of the face

*While in make-up, twist the front piece in place and pin it back

*When you let it go, it has a softening bending look away from the face. Spray to hold & you are Nina Dobrev ready!
