Let’s talk about an Antioxidant Beauty Snack, Dry Brushing and a Beauty Tray that all will rejuvenate you and your space!
Today we will show you the art of skin health restoration and rejuvenation through high antioxidant snacks (think apple pumpkin pie beauty snack), dry brushing before showering, and creating the most beautiful beauty routine trays!
Let’s change our skin both inside and out in some FUN SEASONAL WAYS!
Antioxidant Beauty Snack
It’s apple season! An apple a day keeps the doctor away! It’s especially important to keep our bodies healthy in the fall and winter time and incorporating fruits and vegetables with plenty of water is the best way to do it! I love driving to the apple orchards and loading up a bag of apples or even pick your own apples for fresh air and exercise. If you are near the Carolinas try one of these orchards Justus Orchard, Granddad’s, or Sky Top for delicious you pick/we pick apples as well as gorgeous scenery.
There are so many delicious, healthy ways to incorporate apples. We want to share one of our favorite Antioxidant Beauty Snacks which is a must on your journey towards the art of skin health restoration and rejuvenation!
Sneak peak – here is what my sister, Ashley (skin obsessed who uses her Masters in Education to research skin and beauty tools and I (Master Esthetician of over 10 years) have created our lapree beauty, Free Anti-aging Skincare Community. We will talk about what are the ESSENTIAL products you should be using, how to apply them and what beauty tools ACTUALLY WORK!
As promised, below is an antioxidant BEAUTY SNACK that we love called Apple Pumpkin Pie.
Apple Pumpkin Pie Bowl – It’s so Del
1 cup of Unsweetened Coconut Milk Yogurt
3 Tablespoons of unsalted organic walnut pieces
1 tablespoon of organic Maple Syrup
½ organic apple sliced with the peel (Wash thoroughly)
3 shakes of pumpkin pie spice
Mix all ingredients and enjoy!
Beauty Benefits:
*Coconut Yogurt contains live active cultures which are probiotics. Probiotics are the good bacteria that you need in your gut to fight off the bad bacteria. Probiotics also increase your immune system.
*Apples – the peel contains most of the antioxidants; which are great for fighting cancer. Apples also contain quercetin which protect your brain cells, and are full of fiber so not only does it keep you regular but helps you stay full longer. Apples also contain pectin which your good bacteria like to feed on. Did I mention they also contain 10% of your daily Vitamin C?
*Walnuts – High in Omega 3s (an essential fat that you must get from your diet;your body doesn’t make Omega 3s), full of antioxidants, contains polyphenols to help decrease inflammation and promotes a healthy gut.
*Maple Syrup – contains zinc and potassium which are good for your heart, high in antioxidants which are great for your immune system and helps fight wrinkles.
*Pumpkin Pie Spice – includes fiber, vitamin b and antioxidant
Let’s talk Dry Brushing
Dry Brushing is definitely an anti-aging must do in your routine and is a part of the art of skin health restoration and rejuvenation.
Ashley and I love to buy the dry brushes that have a long handle so you can get your entire back side. You want to dry brush for about 3 minutes every night before showering.
Why do you want to dry brush? Let us share with you all the benefits.
*It is a physical way of exfoliating your skin to remove the dead skin cells. Thereby speeding up the process of creating fresh new skin cells. Those new skin cells are going to be softer and more glowing.
* It will improve circulation
*Helps unclog the pores so your moisturizers will penetrate the deeper layers of the skin.
*My favorite part is helping with the lymphatic system! I do counter clockwise swirls on my stomach. This aids in digestion – so it helps your body absorb the nutrients from your food faster.
For other parts you want to always brush toward your heart. Brush into your arm pits, and the upper inner thigh for your lymph nodes. Then begin with your feet and brush upwards towards your knees. Then from your knees to your thighs. Then brush small circles around your abdomen area. Then brush from your hands to your elbow. Followed by your elbows to your shoulders. Then repeat on the back side of your body. The stiff bristles feel so good on your body!
Create a Beauty Tray
Let’s begin by creating a bathroom tray oasis! Find a tray that fits well with your space, sparks joy, and evokes the art of skin health restoration and rejuvenation. Fill it with a few of your favorite beauty things and make it seasonal. We went to one of our favorite local shops, Madison & Co and curated this special space with the help of their florist. Ashley & I walked around the store, got inspired about what we wanted to see in our skin routine both in the am and pm. The wonderful thing about a tray is that each season you can refresh it with seasonal flowers, inspiration, and seasonal décor.
*Seasonal candle. Now this is so cool. We discovered those glass covers that you put over the candles are called a cloche. We actually never knew what they were used for and found out they were used to smell the candle. They also look very elegant and keep the dust off your candle.
*Seasonal inspirational quote or saying and place in a beautiful frame.
*Seasonal faux or real flowers to welcome the space. We found these really cool neutral faux feathers in a modern vase to give the space some height.
*Either repurpose a flower pot that you used with your summer flowers (washed of course) or find a decorative one you love that is wide enough to hold your items. Flower pots are very sturdy, have fun patterns and are a great way to display those go to everyday makeup brushes you use! Put some coffee beans in the bottom to hold them into place. We also found this really interesting log flower pot where we added our richer moisturizers that we will be using during the Fall that fit perfectly.
Remember, Each season is a chance to rejuvenate your senses and to incorporate the art of skin health restoration and rejuvenation. Ashley and I wish you a BEAUTIFUL Fall season!
