Let the Summer Games Begin with our first ever summer supreme skincare battle. So since it is summer there are tons of games and parties going on so we wanted to create a fun summertime skincare battle today! Let the best product win!
Here is how it goes
We are going to have 3 categories which will be Moisturizers, Sunscreens, and Beauty Devices… We are going to have different products battle in the categories then we will announce the winner.
Our 3 categories are Best Moisturizers, Best Sunscreen for the face, Best Beauty Device
First Up is the Best Beauty Device Category
LED lights versus Lyma Laser Cold Therapy Device
LED Light – has red light therapy which studies have been done where it can promote hair growth – studies have shown when low levels of red light are exposed to scalp – hair follicles will grow. now led is scattered light where the laser is a focused beam of light. So for example, if you were using the lyma device to make your hair grow that might not be a good idea.. Because the laser is so powerful, it could damage your hair follicles…
For hair growth you want steady low level red lights using an led light device – 20 minutes 3 times a week… don’t over do it and think more time or more use is better because too much time can damage your follicles.. So for hair growth – this is a win for led light… Ding ding ding
For Skin looking at the Current Body LED light –
- Uses 2 clinically proven wavelengths; Red and Near-Infrared to reduce wrinkles by 35% in just 4 weeks
- 95% of users said their skin tone, texture and firmness improved after use
- flexible silicone structure so light penetrates every area of the face
- Use for 10 minutes, 5 times a week as part of your skincare routine
Lyma Laser – For Skin – the power of the laser is able to go deeper inside of your skin than the led lights. Led lights are able to go to the epidermis layer where the lyma laser can go to epidermis, dermis, fat and muscle layers to tell the skin cells to regenerate, repair and recharge. It also tells the skin cells to produce more protein to fight off the damage from our environment, think pollution, smoking, bad diet, so you will have more collagen and elastin. Use the laser for sagging skin, wrinkles, improving skin tone, etc. Use everyday where skin needs improvement.. Face, neck, chest, other areas of scarring also hands…. Fantastic for acne scars.. Yes, it’s pricey but you are getting professional results at home and will last you 10 years.
Winner for hair growth is LED lights.
Winner for anti-aging skin is Lyma Laser
By the way… before we get to the next battle – I have to tell you about my latest sandal obsession. I went to the store to try on all the elevated and platform sandals. After trying on a bunch, I bought the classic crush sandals. I put the link in the shownotes so you could see the ones I am talking about. OMG these are so fun and I love them. They are incredibly comfortable and give me some height too. I wanted some that would give me a lift but not too high that I would twist an ankle.. So seriously, now I am going to order more colors because I want to have these in stock for years to come because you know they change stuff out every year.
Second Battle – Best Facial Sunscreens
We are focusing on the best ingredients, best glow and coverage, and price consideration. Let’s go! So we did a podcast talking all about summer sunscreen protection, why its important and our favorite products. I narrowed down the list to compete in this battle.
Sunplus – Love the way this feels and goes on. Feels like a moisturizing and nourishing lotion. I really just love how it doesn’t feel like a sunscreen but more of a luxe moisturizer. Yet it is protecting my skin at the same time. I reach for this when I am going to just be out and about and not really seeing anyone but want my skin to be protected and feel good naked.
Glow Stick – Game changer for my kids – Oh yes, I use this especially for my kids! So quick and easy to glide on before soccer practice or heading out to play – It’s so easy to handle that the kids like to apply it themselves – This is just for the face and neck – Heads up – Too small for your entire body.. We just ran out, so I bought 2 more – lol.. Use it everyday before swim team on their faces.
Naked Sundays – Because it is so thick and hydrating, so can use as a moisturizer and spf;has a mild tint so I can wear it by itself without makeup if out and about~Ashley
It is thick so I added a tiny bit of moisturizer with it to get a consistency that spreads easily. I like how it gives your skin a glow- Lindsey
Ourself Mineral – Liquidy but still need to work to rub it in, feels sticky. Very light and liquidy – Lindsey
It has an illuminating effect. It goes on very smooth with no white cast. It protects my skin from the sun. It does soften my skin and gives it a slight smoother texture. Ashley would repurchase again. It’s white but blends in so easily and doesn’t leave white cast
Winner???? If only going to purchase one… it is…. Ash tell hers and Lin tells her
Last Battle – Best Summer Moisturizers!!!
Our competitors are
Go Pure Beauty Glyco Peptide Anti-Wrinkle Moisturizer
OneSkin Facial Moisturizer
Then I met You, Renewing Rich Beauty Cream
Bloomeffects Royal tulip moisturizing nectar
Go Pure Beauty Glyco Peptide Anti-Wrinkle Moisturizer – It glides on nicely, has great coverage, very hydrating I woke up with a definite feeling that my skin was softer. Non greasy feel. I used over my One skin moistuirzer and put over face, neck, chest and hands.
OneSkin Facial Moisturizer- must need as your first step in your skincare. It is incredibly light… It dries after a minute – We vouch for their products – incredible results – our skin has never looked better because we use their products morning and night. Truly incredible.
For me Ashley – I usually will put another moisturizer after it dissolves into my skin, as my skin is dry.
Then I met You, Renewing Rich Beauty Cream – Dense, soft, easily absorbed- love putting this on at night when I really need my skin hydrated. It quenches its thirst. It is a nourishing treatment cream. My skin feels so soft after using it.
Bubble Level Up Balancing Moisturizer – helps to repair blue light damage as well as heal and restore moisture – light weight and goes on smooth. Price is fantastic at $16 for a one time purchase or if you are on a subscription you get it for $13.60
Royal Tulip Jelly – Thick and use as last step of skincare routine – occlusive. This stuff is such a creative and fun product to use. Every time I dip my fingers in it I smile. Rich in antioxidants, natural moisturizing factors, and amino acids, produces softer, smoother, glowing, and hydrated skin.
If only going to purchase one…. The winner of our favorite moisturizer is….
