One of my favorite Christmas activities is going to the Grove Park Inn and taking a stroll through the National Gingerbread House Competition. The views, the large rocking chairs by the fire place, the hot chocolate station…just can’t be topped. If looking for an all day event in Asheville, enjoy the shops in town at the Biltmore Town Park, where you might be lucky enough to listen to Christmas Carolers and enjoy hot boiled peanuts. For dinner, make reservations in advance at The Blue Ridge Dining room inside the Grove Park and devour three rooms filled with treats, sweets and savories all a plenty. Get ready to experience breathtaking views, quaint boutique shops for all of your Christmas shopping and memories to last the whole year round.

The small community built the gingerbread houses as a Christmas activity 24 years ago with no plans of making this into a tradition. And today this one of the nation’s most celebrated events. These houses are truly magnificent, and such a great, inexpensive {only $10 for day parking}, day date for you and your special someone during the holiday season. Hurry to check out one of Asheville’s favorite traditions now through January 5, 2017.

*A Warm Holiday to you filled with Cheer and Good Will *
